Medical Assistants
The Thielen Student Health Center is seeking two full-time Medical Assistants. These positions offer regular day-time office hours and come with an excellent benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement, paid vacation and sick leave.
Medical Assistants at the Thielen Student Health Center:
perform technical assessments of patients and assist physician staff in patient care including minor surgery, administration of medications and treatments, fitting orthopedic devices, and administering immunizations
responsible for screening and directing communications between clinic staff, continuing care providers, students, university faculty and staff, and the public
provide written and verbal patient educational information and arrange for continuing and follow-up care of the patient under the direction of a physician or registered nurse.
Required Qualifications: You must be certified as a Medical Assistant or have completed an accredited one year Medical Assistant Program. Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or must obtain within three months of employment.
