Medical Assistant - Podiatry - Wheaton - FT
Dupage Medical Group - Wheaton, IL 60187
Full time position in Podiatry! Must be willing to travel between Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Lombard, Hinsdale and Naperville (River North) with the physician.
Under the immediate supervision of a physician, the CMA/MA assists the physician and/or RNs in facilitating the transition of the patient from the registration process to the actual receipt of services by professional and technical personnel. Key responsibilities include:
1. Measuring and recording vitals.
2. Patient histories
3. Rooming patients
4. Preparing patients for exams and routine testing
5. Assist the physician with exams and minor office procedures
6. Collects lab specimens
7. Changes dressings, applies bandages and other first aid procedures
8. Returns pharmacy faxes after physician approves refills
9. Sends normal test results via mail to patients
10. Autoclave duties upon completion of sterilizing education
11. Orders supplies
12. Stocks rooms
13. Disposes of biohazardous wastes according to OSHA standards
14. Assists with phones, scheduling, referrals as needed
Certification through AAMA or RMA (AMT) is preferred. Related work experience is a plus. Prefer one year experience in a medical setting such as a doctor's office, hospital or nursing home; previous outpatient experience is a plus. Must be customer focused and professional.
We offer pro-rated paid time off benefits for part time positions, and a full benefits package for our full time positions (30+ hrs/week)!
