Job Summary:

The role of the Assistant Medical Director is to create and develop medical education or promotional education materials for distribution as contracted by pharmaceutical clientele.

Principal Responsibilities:

· Provide scientific support to projects and programs in the development of medical education and/or commercial materials

· Acquire academic/clinical mastery of product brands

· Develop expertise in assigned therapeutic discipline with respect to clinical development and literature regarding products

· Develop awareness of product market environment as well as marketing and medical communication strategies of the client

· Attend staff and Scientific Services meetings and report on job progress and departmental inefficiencies

· Responsibilities include but are not limited to interfacing with clients, the production of product monographs, faculty slide kits, executive summaries, and original and secondary articles for promotional or education purposes, collaborating with internal and external partners

· Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements:

Experience

• MD or PhD in Biomolecular (e.g. Immunology, Genetics, Molecular Oncology, Microbiology) or Biomedical (e.g. Neurophysiology, Physiology, Clinical Pharmacology, Oncology, or Medical Psychology) Sciences.

• The candidate will have expertise in the basic science of the proposed therapeutic target area with the ability to rapidly acquire new information pertaining to the development and execution of medical marketing initiatives of the pharmaceutical industry.

• A strong publication record highlighting the writing abilities of the candidate.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills will be required that pertain to brand-specific scientific communications, both clinical and academic.

• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Education: Ph.D, PharmD or MD
